Highlight of the project is the Project ArAw songwriting competition where students are given the opportunity to express themselves through music. ABS-CBN composer and arranger, Fred Ferraz mentored more than 1,000 school representatives on basic songwriting to further prepare them in the upcoming competition. Winning entries will be produced in music videos which will be distributed to public high schools and will be downloadable through Nokia store. “We are a Filipino culture with love for music. I wish all of you (students) will take advantage of what you have learned and  look back at this project and realize that honesty, self-sufficiency and social responsibility are all you need to get through”, said RJ Decilio, Business Development Manager of Nokia Philippines.

Project Araw underscores the power of music to teach, inspire and move Filipinos forward and by creating original Filipino songs that will connect to the youth, the project seeks to make a positive change in the society.
