Theaterdom Excited About Trumpets’ Return With ‘The Bluebird’

As a fan of theater productions, I find this announcement good news indeed!

Press Release:

Manila’s theater-going public is very excited about the return of Trumpets to the stage with “The Bluebird”, a brand new musical about a magical adventure of two children in the quest for real happiness. As the first Asian professional gospel theater group widely known for musicals that provide wholesome family entertainment such as “First Name”, “Fables and Parables”, “N.O.A.H.”, “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe”, “Joseph the Dreamer”, and “Little Mermaid”, Trumpets is back to dazzle the whole family with a musical adaptation of the play “The Blue Bird” by Belgian playwright, Maurice Maeterlinck.

Unlike other English theater companies, who get the performing rights of Broadway/West End materials, Trumpets dedicated the past three years in creating the new musical with book and lyrics by Jaime del Mundo and music by Rony Fortich. Despite the sundry of good musicals and straight plays mounted in the first quarter by various theater companies, theater practitioners who have appeared in Trumpets musicals and are now notable performers express excitement about Trumpets’ comeback. “I think it's very exciting. I always look forward to original work. It really shows off how talented we Filipinos are." says Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo. Franco Laurel agrees, “I am really happy and excited that Trumpets is finally doing another original musical. Jaime and Rony will definitely give us a theatrical gem and I can't wait to see The Bluebird come to life this September.”

“The Bluebird” is highly anticipated to deliver the elements that audiences love in a family musical: a delightful story, colorful characters, beautiful music, fantastic production design, brilliant staging, hearty laughs, touching moments and a valuable lesson. Joaquin Valdez enthuses, “Trumpets is the only production company that has successfully brought the stuff of dreams and fantasy to life. I don’t know of any other theater company that has matched the caliber Trumpets has introduced.” Even Jake Macapagal is "extremely proud of Trumpets’ line of successful adaptations. The reputation that Trumpets has for family entertainment and supporting the local scene with vibrant productions and storytelling is second to none."

With the show’s theme of finding happiness where your heart is, Lynn Sherman too is “excited like everyone! I hear it’s going to be a LOT of fun!” For sponsorship or show buying opportunities for “The Bluebird”, please contact the Trumpets office at 901-‐4364 or visit the official Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/BluebirdbyTrumpets).
