A Timeless Valentine Experience at Casa Roces

Have a romantic dinner for two at Casa Roces this Valentine's season!

Press Release:

Nothing beats the romance of Manila – beautiful sunsets that warm the heart, the charm of ancestral houses and grand churches in historic Intramuros and San Miguel district, and the heritage that is Malacañan Palace, once home to the most powerful couple in the country – the President and the First Lady/Gentleman.  These timeless images are enough to stoke the passion in your beloved, especially if it’s a date that will take place right in the heart of the capital!

Casa Roces, the perfect dining venue for those with a taste for good sensibility and delicacy, is opening its doors to them as they celebrate the most romantic days of the year.  Dubbed Manila Romantics, it promises to be a date like no other.

This year’s Valentine’s Menu, prepared by Casa Roces’ Chef Paul Cruz, is an intricately prepared 4-course lineup that will surely heighten the experience and attraction between the lovebirds. As soon as you arrive at the venue and are ushered to your table, they will serve welcome drinks and an amuse-bouche of camembert and strawberry confit in phyllo crust.

Start your date right with a salad of pan-fried harissa shrimps on watermelon and feta cheese with fresh mint and balsamic vinaigrette – the beautiful combination of the sweetness of watermelon, the saltiness of the feta and the tartness of balsamic vinegar brings out the freshness of the shrimp while taming the searing flavors of the harissa, a popular sauce containing pepper paste and various chili peppers, and herbs like garlic from North Africa.

Follow it up with the main course, with options for fish or meat.  Fish connoisseurs will fall in love with the milk-poached salmon fillet on garlic petsai, tomato and bacon fricassee with orange hollandaise sauce as they take a tender bite on the savory flavor of the fish, along with the aroma of garlic and the varied texture of flavors brought by the vegetables and the hollandaise sauce.

Meat lovers will crave for the porchetta served on roasted vegetables, sautéed rapini with Chocolate-port wine sauce.  You will surely succumb to the crunchy mahogany crust of the pork belly and feast on the succulent boneless meat, complemented bythe nutty flavor of rapini (also known as raab, a leafy vegetable resembling broccoli) and garlic, and the deep dark zest of chocolate and port wine.

Top the evening off with flourless chocolate tart with fresh berries and pistachio.  The silky texture of the chocolate tart and the smooth tang of fresh berries and pistachio is a perfect concoction for seduction.

Those who would like to keep it private and more intimate can head up to Casa Roces’ second floor (where the art gallery and function rooms are). With special cocktails, elegant set-up fit for the occasion, there will also be a captivating harp music in the background as Avonlea Paraiso strums soothing tunes from her harp. Your Valentine’s date at Casa Roces will truly be classic, tasteful and unforgettable.

Casa Roces is also unveiling its “La Azotea” group dinner packages – an intimate dining concept that brings back the glamour of the Commonwealth Era, when people used to dress up over a meal.  With a special menu composing of an amuse-bouche, salad, choice of seafood or meat dish, dessert and wine selections, the “La Azotea” aims to impress your guest and make your social gathering a much-talked about event.
