The CCP Dance School is now accepting enrollees for its 43rd CCP Summer Dance Workshop. Opening after Holy Week, the 6-week dance intensive program will run from April 10 to May 20, 2012, culminating with 2 recital performances at the CCP Main Theater on May 19 and 20.
A melting pot for dance students and enthusiasts in and out of Metro Manila, the SDW12 offers classes for Baby Ballet, Classical Ballet for all levels, Modern and Contemporary Dance, Dance Improvisation and Choreography, and Hip Hop. The workshop is also open to dance teachers and choreographers who wish to immerse themselves in the creative and dynamic atmosphere of the summer intensive program as well as its lecture series on dance topics, which include Dance History, Pedagogy, Dance Injury and Prevention, among others.
The CCP Dance School is the educational arm of Ballet Philippines, the country’s premier ballet and contemporary dance company. Now on its 43rd year of taking Philippine dance to greater heights, the company is counting down to a grand celebration of its 45 years.
Ballet Philippines is headed by artistic director Paul Alexander Morales, and the CCP Dance School will open the season with a new director at its helm, noted ballet master Victor Ursabia.
