Ang Bagong Harana Artists' Profiles

Ang Bagong Harana will showcase the best of Filipino composers from different music genres and will feature some of Philippine theater’s celebrated singers this coming Sept. 29 to Oct. 1. This is a musical journey every Filipino must take and which all of us should be proud of.

Presenting Ang Bagong Harana's talented singers:

KARLA PATRICIA GUTIERREZ soprano
Karla attained her Bachelor of Music Degree, Majoring in Voice from the University of the Philippines’ College of Music, under the tutelage of Prof. Fides Cuyugan-Asensio. She pursued further studies in Opera Interpretations with the Accademia Internazionale delle Arti in Rome, Italy under the supervision of Maestra Doris Andrews.

CHARLEY MAGALIT soprano
Charley is currently finishing her Diploma in Creative Performance in Music Arts at the University of the Philippines College of Music in Diliman. She has performed with Dulaang UP and with the UP College of Music Voice, Music Theater Guild opera productions.

TWINKLE PRIETOS soprano
A recipient of the Sunico Foundation Scholarship and graduated magna cum laude in voice from the University of the Philippine’s College of Music under the tutelage of the Prof. Cecilia O. Valena. She is an alumna of the Philippine Madrigal Singers and was part of the 2010 MADZ European tour. She has performed in various opera productions.


MARIAN SANTIAGO soprano
Marian graduated at the University of Santo Tomas in a Bachelor’s Degree of Music Education, Voice emphasis under the tutelage of Professor Thea Perez-Prosia. She was a member of CORO TOMASINO, and has performed in several productions and events such as the “Die Fledermaus”, “Sampung mga Daliri” held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines to name a few.

JANINE SANTOS soprano
Janine is a 5th year Bachelor of Music Major in Voice from the University of the Philippines College of Music under Professor Cecilia Ongsiako-Valena. Her performances of Julia for Tanghalang Ateneo’s Walang Sugat and Juli in Dulaang UP’s Isang Panaginip na Fili gave her acclaimed reviews.

AL GATMAITAN tenor
Al has covered as Roger Davis for Nine Works Theatrical production of “Rent”. He collaborated with Tanghalang Pilipino for “Banaag at Sikat” and “Noli Me Tangere”. And he played the Tenor for Philippine Opera Company's “Master Class”. He has been nominated twice in Aliw Awards for Best New Male Classical Performer and Best Actor in a musicale.


MARVIN GAYRAMON baritone
Marvin was a 1st prize NAMCYA winner in the Collegiate Category. He recently won 1st runner up in the NCCA Kundiman Competition. He was also a semi-finalist in the Juenesses Musicales Montreat International Competition Voice 2008. He has extensively toured key cities in Asia, Canada and the USA doing concert tours, festivals and competitions.

LAWRENCE JATAYNA baritone
Graduated from the U.P. College of Music Majoring in Voice, under the tutelage of the late Professor Elmo Q. Makil. He was part of Singapore Lyric Opera productions of Verdi’s “La Traviata” and “Tales of Hoffmann”. He played the role of Marcello in Philippine Opera Company’s “La Boheme”. He has performed as solo classical artist in various concerts such as, Metlife Korea’s Gala and Awards night held in Brunei Darussalam.

NAZER SALCEDO tenor
Nazer has performed in local and international stages both as a Kundiman and a Classical artist. He has worked with Bulwagang Gantimpala, Dulaang UP, Opera Guild, Repertory Philippines and UP-PCCA. He is a trainer and adviser of Teatro Lasalliana of the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas where he is also a faculty member for the Communication Arts Department.


JACK SALUD baritenor
Jack has appeared in Repertory Philippines’ various productions such as “Little Women”, “Zorba”, “Man of La Mancha” and Philippine Opera Company’s “The Magic Flute” and “Master Class”. He performed with the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra in a solo concert entitled “FEEL HARMONIC” at the Rockwell Center and has also performed with FILHARMONIKA Orchestra under the baton of Gerard Salonga in Rockwell’s “ENCORE:Feel Harmonic II”.

FLOYD TENA baritone
Floyd is a member of the all-male power vocal cross-over trio “Primo” which has performed internationally. He has appeared in Gantimpala Theater’s production of “Noli Me Tangere”, Dulaang UP’s “Isang Panaginip na Fili”. He was part of the USA Tour of Music and Theatre’s “Song of Joseph”.

JURGEN UNTERBERG tenor
Jurgen is half-Filipino, half-German. His passion for the arts started at the tender age of five when he was encouraged by his family, teachers, and friends to join various singing competitions. He was also one of the most popular contestants, dubbed as a “heartthrob,” in ABS-CBN’s hit talent show, “Pilipinas Got Talent”, in its first season. He will be an in-coming freshman at the Conservatory of Music of the University of Santo Tomas.
