New song by Taylor Swift from The Hunger Games' companion soundtrack ... Watch the trailer, the movie looks awesome!

4-time GRAMMY® winner Taylor Swift released a brand-new song on iTunes overnight, “Safe & Sound.” This is the lead single from the forthcoming Hunger Games soundtrack executive produced by T-Bone Burnett with international release date: March 19th, 2012. Featuring The Civil Wars, the song is the lead single from the companion soundtrack to the upcoming Lionsgate® film “The Hunger Games.” Taylor wrote the song with Joy Williams, John Paul White and T Bone Burnett.
Taylor herself first shared the news exclusively with fans late in the night of December 22, using a surprise series of announcements on Twitter (@taylorswift13). In the 30 minutes leading up to the song’s iTunes posting, Taylor sent tweets that something that she was “VERY excited about for a VERY long time is going to be happening VERY soon,” then announced the big news by posting a link to the song on iTunes.
“Safe & Sound” grabbed the #1 position atop the iTunes Top Ten Singles chart in less that 24 hours.
Twelve-time Grammy® and Academy Award® winning producer and songwriter Burnett is producing the companion soundtrack album, which features newly written and recorded songs, based on themes embodied in THE HUNGER GAMES, from some of music’s biggest and most acclaimed artists. The album will be released this year on Universal Republic Records in advance of the film. Taylor appears courtesy of Big Machine Records.
