Caltex Gives Robinsons Rewards Card Members More Fuel Discounts and Shopping Savings

Hey, motorists! Here's another good reason to gas up at Caltex!

Press Release:

Robinsons Rewards Card (RRC) members will enjoy earning more points not only when they shop at their favorite Robinsons stores but also when they fuel up at Caltex. RRC members can now use their points to redeem P1 discount for every one liter fuel purchase at participating Caltex stations nationwide. Every five liter gas up earns a point which means that the more customers fuel up at Caltex and shop at Robinsons, the more points for fuel and shopping savings.

Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, teamed up with Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. (RRHI), the second largest multi-format retailer in the Philippines, to create a unique offer that allows customers to quickly and continually add value to their purchases by getting a variety of fuel and shopping rewards through their RRC.

Because of this loyalty program partnership, motorists now have more reasons to choose Caltex. Customers can save more on fuel costs when they purchase Caltex with Techron plus the five benefits of maximized power, improved fuel economy, lower emission, smoother drive and reliable performance.

In addition to fuel savings, RRC members will also enjoy big discounts in their shopping and grocery purchases as points earned at participating Caltex stations can be redeemed at any of 1,180 Robinsons stores nationwide which include Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Selections, Robinsons Easymart, Robinsons Appliances, Handyman, True Value, AM Builders’ Depot, Toys “R” Us, Daiso Japan, Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Burton Menswear, Warehouse, River Island, Shana, G2000, Shiseido, and Benefit
Customers can avail of this benefit by signing up for RRC membership at any Robinsons stores for P150 only.

CPI values the patronage of its customers by giving them access to top loyalty programs in the market.  Last year, CPI partnered with Jollibee Food Corporation’s happyplüs program which continues to grow in memberships.  happyplüs will run alongside the Robinsons Rewards Card loyalty program and customers can choose which of the rewards program they want to use.

“Caltex has been in the Philippines for over 75 years. Throughout this time, the Caltex brand has remained relevant to Filipino motorists because we are able to support their changing lifestyles and needs. This partnership allows us to uniquely reward thousands of motorists and shoppers for their loyalty to Caltex and Robinsons. We are truly proud of this long-term relationship with Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc.” said Peter Morris, Chevron Philippines Inc., Country Chairman and General Manager for Philippine products.

Robina Gokongwei-Pe, president and COO of RRHI. said “We at Robinsons Retail are always looking for new ways to delight our customers and give them a better customer experience.  That is why we are very happy to partner with Chevron Philippines Inc.’s, Caltex service stations to expand the acceptance of Robinsons Rewards beyond stores operated by Robinsons. This will be a welcome development to over 800,000 members of the Robinsons Rewards Card. With more than 700 Caltex service stations nationwide, we are very honored to have Chevron Philippines as our first external partner for Robinsons Rewards.”

Academe Partners
Under its ‘Future Talents Program,’ Aboitiz invites all qualified students in the tertiary level to participate in the Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit (AFLBS), its curriculum-based On-the-Job Training Program, and apply for its scholarship or cadetship program.

These programs over the years have helped hundreds of interns and scholars across the group to prepare students for life after college while honing their business and leadership skills.

The company announced the formal opening of the Aboitiz College Scholarship Program (ACSP) earlier this year, which provides financial assistance that is renewable every semester, provided the scholar maintains the 85% General Point Average or its equivalent.

The scholarship is open to full-time incoming first to fourth year college students pursuing a degree in Accountancy, Business / Management, IT, Psychology, Engineering, or Pre-Law. Deadline of application is April 6, 2015.

Aboitiz Careers
Last year, Aboitiz also opened its Legal Scholarship Program to students of the UP College of Law from second to fourth year for the regular program, or second to fifth year for the evening program.

The On-the-Job Training Program, on the other hand, equips students with the necessary skills and right work attitude through a curriculum-based training experience in preparation for their journey to the actual work environment.

Now on its 10th year, the Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit brings together close to a hundred promising college students from all over the country for two days to educate them on leadership and management concepts and how these are concretized in a corporate environment. Since its launch, the total of number of AFLBS alumni has reached 810 participants. The AFLBS will be this coming November in Cebu City. Aboitiz Group Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer Txabi Aboitiz said the company’s student programs have been developed to help the country’s future leaders establish careers that would contribute to nation-building.

Txabi Aboitiz
“It’s not only about preparing them for the corporate world. By forging the leaders of today, we are guaranteed with a better tomorrow,” he said, referring to the country’s ‘best and the brightest’ – working scholars, varsity athletes, honor students, and organization leaders who participate in the annual AFLBS.

To complement these initiatives, the company has also ventured into curricular and co-curricular initiatives in collaboration with the academe; some of which have been to conduct speaking engagements with students such as the recently launched “Family Business Talk” with the Ateneo Family Business Development Council to give aspiring entrepreneurs a glimpse of the makings of a successful family-run business and ‘Career Talk’ for Engineers with the University of the Philippines (UP). A Power 101 Module was also cascaded in Mapua Institute of Technology and De La Salle University Manila educating future engineers about commercial power.

Vet Med and An Sci Congress participants
Meanwhile, Aboitiz food subsidiary Pilmico will organize its first ever Junior Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science Congress in August. This event aims to equip the delegates with practical and applied knowledge on animal production, management and nutrition in the pillars of swine, poultry, and gamefowl.

All Aboitiz Future Talents Program are supported by Aboitiz subsidiaries from the power generation, distribution, banking, food, and land, and its corporate social responsibility arm Aboitiz Foundation.

Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. (AEV) is the publicly listed holding and investment company of the Aboitiz Group with major investments in power, banking, food, and land. AEV is recognized as one of the best-managed companies in the Philippines and in the region, and is acknowledged for its good corporate governance.

Anne Curtis Visits UNICEF Supported Yolanda Recovery Efforts and Meets with Children and Families

Press Release:

TACLOBAN CITY, 5 March 2015 – Newly appointed UNICEF Celebrity Advocate for Children Anne Curtis spent two moving days visiting parts of Leyte. She saw the recovery operations just over a year after Typhoon Yolanda and took time to engage and interact with children and their families.

“I am honored to join UNICEF on this very fulfilling and meaningful trip. I am deeply touched by how children and families have coped and are building back their lives. Clearly, significant progress have been achieved. Talking to children and their families, and being able to bring smiles to their faces is something I will remember for the rest of my life,” said Anne Curtis.

She adds, “As a donor and supporter of UNICEF, I am glad to see how our funds have reached and worked for children most in need.” In the past two days, Anne saw UNICEF supported emergency response while visiting a maternal health care ward in the regional hospital, an immunization site, a child friendly space at a temporary housing site, educational facilities such as day care centres and elementary schools, equipped with water, sanitation and hygiene facilities. In every site she visited, Anne took her time to talk with children and families.

“I played with children in a child-friendly space and a day care centre. I read books to them and helped them draw in an arts & crafts session. I washed hands with school children and participated in their song and dance number,” shared Anne, “It was heartwarming to listen to mothers, children, and young people. It is important that people know these stories, understand how communities are recovering and what we can do to help.”

As a UNICEF Celebrity Advocate for Children, Anne will focus on promoting Early Childhood Care & Development. She will also help in mobilizing support and resources for the most vulnerable children and families, those living in abject poverty, are affected by violence, abuse, exploitation, and particularly in emergency and conflict situations.

“Anne has been a steady supporter of UNICEF since 2009. UNICEF Philippines welcomes her as a Celebrity Advocate,” said UNICEF Philippines Representative Ms. Lotta Sylwander. “We trust that with her popularity and large following, Anne will play a significant role in drawing due attention to issues affecting the most vulnerable, marginalized and underserved children.”

In the Philippines, Anne joins UNICEF National Ambassador Gary Valenciano and UNICEF Special Advocate for Children Daphne Paez in upholding UNICEF’s mandate to protect and promote the rights of children worldwide.

Let's make our young people more conscious about protecting the environment! Encourage them to join this contest, which may even win them cash prizes! :)

Press Release:
