People, places, things, and events in life are just like threads in a tapestry. The colors won't be as rich and diverse if we don't open ourselves up to new experiences and opportunities. I'm trying to live my life to the fullest ... may you do, too.

Smart Celebrities
You read it right! The title of this post is not an oxymoron. There ARE famous people who have brains even if those who usually make the news are the not-so-smart ones.
For example, did you know that Jodie Foster graduated as valedictorian from the French-speaking Lycee Francais de Los Angeles? And that she attended Yale where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in literature? Jodie also speaks French fluently!
Find out more ... Check out this list of 15 celebrities who have high IQs and are talented in other things aside from acting.

Lamp that runs on blood!
Just found this interesting invention: A lamp that uses blood to create light that is meant to make us rethink how we use energy.
The lamp contains luminol, a chemical that reacts with the iron in blood and creates a bright blue glow. Credit: Mike Thompson, http://www.miket.co.uk/
Read the full-length article about it here.

Hilarious Graphic
I'm guessing that whoever made this illustration must have:
a) thought of doing it in real life
b) had the unfortunate experience of being victimized by a peeping tom
c) a sense of humor, period
Anyway, whatever the reason, I found this really, really funny :p

American Idol Judge Sings
I knew nothing about Kara DioGuardi when she became an American Idol judge. I still had to research then about who she was to know. I found out that Kara is a composer and have already created a lot of songs for many famous singers.
A few weeks ago, during Hollywood week, contestant Didi Benami sang a very nice song that was a Kara DioGuardi composition. I became intrigued enough to search for it in the Internet and found this:
I learned that Katharine McPhee did the original recording but I felt that her singing paled when I heard Kara sing Terrified. Enjoy this video. I did!

5 ways to relax in 5 minutes
I sometimes get stressed over little things. I know it's not beneficial to my health and I try to, as much as possible, get it out of my system fast.
An article in Shine from Yahoo, shares 5 ways to relax in 5 minutes. I usually do three out of those five.
But my surefire ways in taking off the heat include:
1. taking a long shower so I can literally cool down
2. immersing myself in a good book
3. calling a close friend and chatting with her for a few minutes to share what's bothering me
4. doing some household chores like loading the washing machine or rearranging books to get my mind off the source of stress
5. logging on Facebook and catching up with friends
What are your techniques? Do share! :)
